Hot Spot ST Overwrap

The Overwrap is put over the bivvy as a second shell. The second shell and especially the air between the two shells improves thermal insulation, like a thermos flask. The inner shell is heated by body warmth, the outer shell is cooled by wind. The air between the bivvy and the wrap is relatively warm, too, because there is no wind here. The most important reason to use an overwrap is the possibility to ventilate the bivvy. This allows to defer condensate out of the inner bivvy. To ventilate the bivvy door and windows are opened while the wrap is kept closed. Air humidity will condensate at the wrap and drain off at the outer shell. This is due to the fact that the wrapshell is much cooler than the bivvylayer. Thus the bivvy is kept dry.
